All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and messenger.

We believe that there is nothing in the Sharee'ah that prevents having such a name because, apparently, it does not have a negative connotation and thus does not require that Muslims be forbidden from having it as a name. Linguistically, wealth means an abundance of valuable material possessions or resources; riches. Referring to a person as the ‘king of wealth’ means the owner or master of wealth. The Arabic word ‘Malik’ i.e. king, is derived from the word 'Maalik' which means the owner, or from the word 'Maleek' which means the master.

There is nothing in the Sharee'ah that prohibits taking that name, Shehzar, i.e. ‘king of wealth’; it is among the permissible names in Islam. It is not included in the forbidden names such as ‘Maalik Al-Mulk’, i.e. owner of the sovereignty, that is used to refer exclusively to Allaah, The Exalted.
