Is the salary halal for zakat if the company keeps it in a usurious bank before delivering it?

Question

Is my salary halal for zakah if the company keeps it in riba bank b4 sending to me?

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu`alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and messenger.

The money you receive is halal (lawful), and the fact that your company keeps it in a usurious bank before delivering it to you does not affect it, but rather the sin falls upon the company that deals with the bank, not upon you, if the bank is usurious. And it is obligatory upon you to pay the zakat on your money if it reaches the nisaab (the minimum amount liable for Zakah), and a full Hijri (lunar) year has passed on your ownership of this nisaab, and the salaries you save, you pay zakat on every share that you save after the passage of the lunar year on that amount. However, if you wish, you pay the zakat of all your money altogether, which includes more benevolence to the poor and easier for you in the account.

Allah knows best.
