Evidence for the falsehood of pantheism and incarnation
Fatwa No: 153621

Question

Assalamu Alaykum, Is there a hadeeth about the impossibility of God being incarnate in human beings and objects? Thank you

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.

All the religious texts prove that Allaah is separate from His creation and that there is a Creator and a creation, a Lord and His Slaves, and that He does not incarnate in His creation nor is He united with it. Among these texts is the saying of Allaah (which means): {[All] praise is [due] to Allaah, Lord of the worlds.} [Quran 1:2]. The worlds are anything other than Allaah. Allaah also Says (what means): {Allaah is the Creator of all things and He is, over all things, Disposer of affairs.} [Quran 39:62] Allaah further Says about His angels (what means): {They fear their Lord above them, and they do what they are commanded.} [Quran 16:50]

As regards the evidence from the Sunnah, the Prophet said: “Do you not trust me while I am the trustworthy man of Him Who is in the heavens, and the news of the heavens (i.e. the revelation) come down to me both in the morning and the evening.” [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]

Also, the Prophet said: ''Angels come to you in succession by night and by day and all of them get together at the time of the Fajr and 'Asr prayers. Then, those who have passed the night with you (or accompanied you through the night) ascend (to the Heaven) and Allaah asks them, though He knows everything about you, "Well, in what state did you leave My slaves?" The angels reply: "When we left them they were praying and when we reached them, they were praying." [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]

Allaah Knows best.
