Tranquility is a must in all of the prayer's actions
Fatwa No: 200531

Question

Salaam, one of the pillars of salah is that one has to have relaxation and tranquility. So if someone manages to attain tranquility during all actions except one (just say one sajdah for example), is his/her prayer invalid? Jazaakallaahu Khayran.

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allaah, the Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His Slave and Messenger.

We have already clarified in Fatwa 180233 that Tuma’aneenah (tranquility) is one of the pillars of the prayer and we have clarified the extent of this Tuma’neenah.

Tuma’aneenah is a pillar in Qiyaam (standing), in Rukoo’ (bowing), in standing up from Rukoo’, in Sujood (prostration), and in sitting between the two prostrations. So, if a person observes Tuma’aneenah in some pillars of the prayer and does not observe it in some others, then his prayer is not valid.

Dear brother, we draw your attention to the danger and seriousness of Waswasah (compulsive whispering) and of indulging in it, as all your previous questions were about whispers, and we are afraid that your questions might be a result of these whispers.

Allaah Knows best.
