Treatment with Quran & Du‘aa’, and seeing a doctor
Fatwa No: 24427

Question

I have been suffering from sexual dysfunction for more than three years now. I cannot achieve penile erection due to a magic spell. I want to get married, but I fear that I might not be able to satisfy my sexual desire and that of my wife. I did several Ruqyahs (Quranic treatments), but in vain. Please advise.

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allaah, the Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His Slave and Messenger.

There is no doubt that magic spells exist and that they have influence over the person who is affected by them.  If you are sure or almost sure that you are being affected by a magic spell, you should do the following:

1-    Continue performing Ruqyah

2-    Go to relevant Muslim experts, whose faith is sound and who do not innovate Bid‘ah (religious innovation)

3-    Read the Quran frequently

4-    Recite the recommended supplications, especially the Athkaar (remembrances and mentionings of Allaah) of the night and day, and the Du‘aa’ (supplication) of leaving and entering the house.

5-    Read the chapters of Al-Baqarah, Al-Falaq and An-Naas, the verse of Al-Kursi [Quran 2:255], the verses of invalidating magic that are mentioned in the story of Moosaa (Moses) and the last verses of the chapter of Al-Baqarah.

More importantly, you must always do the required acts of worship, whether obligatory or voluntary. Furthermore, you must refrain from saying or doing anything that is prohibited. All these matters help to make the Ruqyah fruitful. As well as this, you can go to a doctor who is specialized in organic or psychological diseases.

I ask Allaah The Almighty to cure you soon.

Allaah Knows best.
