Assalamu alaikum. Are the ahadith about the son of Nuh alaihissalam telling Isa alaihissalam about how long the former has been dead authentic?

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.

There is no Hadeeth from the Prophet – as far as we know – about naming the dead by their names, whom ‘Eesa (Jesus) revived by the Will of Allah, nor that Sam ibn Noah was among them.

What people say about this is nothing, but stories taken from the books of the children of Israel, which some scholars stated in interpreting the Saying of Allah (which means): {… and I give life to the dead - by permission of Allah.} [Quran 3:49]; and they mentioned that when he revived him, four thousand years had passed since his death, and that a conversation took place between them, as mentioned by Al-Qurtubi and others.

However, no one knows the reality of such matters except Allah. Allah has not informed us about it in his Book, nor did His Messenger tell us about it.

What Allah has informed us about is sufficient for us that He has sent His servant and Messenger Jesus and endowed him with Signs that prove the truthfulness of His message, including resurrecting the dead.
