Supplications for Ghusl and Wudu
Fatwa No: 85452

Question

Can you e-mail me all the Du'as for ghusl & wudu with translations?

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.

There is no authentic supplications said during Wudu (ablution) or Ghusl (ritual bath). But it is desirable to utter the name of Allah; i.e., saying Bismillah, before starting them. After completing Wudu or Ghusl, one is advised to say the following supplication: (I bear witness that None has the right to be worshipped except Allah Alone, without partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His Slave and Messenger.)

One may add to the above Du'aa’ (supplication) the following: (O Allah make me of those who return to You often in repentance and make me of those who remain clean and pure.)

One may also recite this Du'aa’: (How perfect You are, O Allah, and I Praise You; I bear witness that None has the right to be worshipped except You; I seek Your forgiveness and turn in repentance to You.”

Allah knows best.
