Question:

Why Allah chose only Jesus Christ amongst all the prophets to be sent back to the earth to fight and kill Dajjal.

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

First of all, a Muslim should believe that Allaah does whatever He wishes and judges what He wishes, and that He creates whatever He wishes and chooses, and that He is not asked about what He does. Indeed, Allaah informed us about all these facts in His Book. Moreover, we should admit the fact that Allaah does not do anything except for wisdom whether or not we know it. If we realize the wisdom, then this is good, and this increases our faith, and if we do not realize that wisdom, then we should submit ourselves to the will of Allaah.

As regards the wisdom for the descent of ‘Eesa (Jesus) may Allaah exalt his mention and not other Prophets to kill the Dajjaal (i.e. Anti-Christ in the end of times) and to do the other matters that he will do after descending, then Ibn Hajar may Allaah have mercy upon him quoted three reasons from the scholars and he preferred the first one of them.

These reasons are as follows:

1- In order to refute the allegations of the Jews that they killed him; so Allaah refuted their lie and chose ‘Eesa may Allaah exalt his mention to be the one who will kill them (along with the Dajjaal).

2- He will descend when his appointed time approaches so that he will be buried in the earth because every creature that is created from the earth will die on it [and be buried in it].

3- ‘Eesa may Allaah exalt his mention supplicated Allaah to make him among the nation of Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) when he knew the characteristics of the Prophet Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, and those of his nation, so Allaah accepted his supplication and he kept him alive until he would descend again at the end of times and this will coincide with the appearance of the Dajjaal and so he would kill him.
