Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

Allaah has made it natural for both men and women to have an inclination towards each other and a feeling of need for the other, and this is why Allaah has instituted marriage. Allaah says (what means): {And of His signs is that He created for you from yourselves mates that you may find tranquility in them; and He placed between you affection and mercy. Indeed in that are signs for a people who give thought.} [Quran 30:21]

These feelings are normal, and the dreams that one sees during sleep are prevalently based on subconscious thoughts. The Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) said: “There are three types of dreams: inner thoughts, what is suggested by the devil to frighten the person (nightmares), or glad tidings from Allaah.” [Al-Bukhari and Muslim] A woman is not blameworthy for feeling this way if it does not lead to committing sins, because the inclination of the heart is beyond one's control.

Finally, we draw your attention to the fact that you should hasten to get married to keep yourself chaste, and there is no shame in a woman searching for a pious husband as we have explained in Fatwa 82471.

If marriage is not readily available, you should do whatever helps you to remain chaste, such as fasting and you must refrain from looking at things that Allaah has forbidden. Allaah says (what means): {And tell the believing women to reduce [some] of their vision and guard their private parts.} [Quran 24:31]

Also, the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) said: “Whoever can marry should marry, as it helps lower gaze and protect the private parts, and whoever is not able to marry should fast, as this helps one curb his desires.” [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]

Allaah Knows best.
