Question:

What is Zihar?
I suffer from huge wasawis in my life. I was typing the same question (What is Zihar?) in google to get some information on this topic but a thought of my wife came in my mind when I typed this word Zihar in google. Can Zihar take place like this ? I had no intention of Zihar towards my wife. My intention was to do some research on google on this topic. Please reply me soon. I shall be very thankful to you. Please help me in getting rid of these wasawis. Please note I suffer from wasawis of Different kinds regarding my marriage.
Best Regards,
Asalam O Alaikum!

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

Thihaar is when a man renders his wife forbidden for him by saying: “You are like my mother to me”; i.e. “You are unlawful to me exactly like my mother”).

As for what you mentioned in your question, which is writing the expression: “What is Thihaar?”; then this does make Thihaar effective.

What will help you to get rid of these whispers is to have trust in Allah, rely on Him, seek refuge in Him, and mention Him and supplicate him as much as possible, but do not pay any attention to these whispers.
