Did any of God's creatures like the angels who carry his throne see God at any time before judgement day?

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.

Some scholars like An-Nawawi and others stated that it is possible to see Allaah in this worldly life, but the view of the majority of early and contemporary scholars is that this is not possible in this worldly life.  Besides, we are not aware of any evidence or statement of any scholar which states that the angels can see Allaah in this worldly life. 

However, there is no great benefit in investigating this matter, so it is better for a Muslim to be concerned with asking about something that results in action (doing what is good and avoiding what is bad), as this is the best thing to do.
