Sexual intercourse in Paradise
Fatwa No: 28376

Question

Does the man who enters Paradise and marries from the women of Paradise have sexual intercourse with them and find pleasure as spouses do in this world, given that the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, told us that the people of Paradise do not release anything from their private parts?

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allaah, the Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His Slave and Messenger.

In Paradise, a husband has sexual intercourse with his wife and they both find pleasure, but this is done without releasing semen. Allaah The Almighty Says (what means): {And they will have therein purified spouses, and they will abide therein eternally.} [Quran 2: 25] Commenting on this verse, Mujaahid and ‘Ataa’ mentioned that the people of Paradise are purified from menstruation, urine and semen. Also, it was reported on the authority of Abu Umaamah that the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, said that the people of Paradise have sexual intercourse with their spouses with a male organ that does not drain and a desire that does not subside. In another narration of the same Hadeeth, he, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, said a man will have sexual intercourse without releasing semen. In a third narration, he, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, said that the people of Paradise have sexual intercourse, eat and drink. [At-Tabaraani; Al-Haythami: Dha`eef (Weak)]

Allaah Knows best.
