Has a Small Miniature of Al-Masjid Al-Haram
Fatwa No: 442609

Question

Assalamu ‘alaykum dear scholars. I have a small miniature of Al-Masjid Al-Haram, and I was wondering wether it carries any sanctity or sacredness.

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.

The aforementioned object does not have any sanctity; rather, we advise you to get rid of it.

We have issued a Fatwa in the Arab section prohibiting the making of statures of the Ka’bah because it may lead to forbidden matters. We mentioned in it the decision of the Islamic Fiqh Council regarding this subject, and it reads:

The Islamic Fiqh Council in the Muslim World League, in its thirteenth session, held in Makkah, which began on Saturday 5 Sha’baan 1412 AH corresponding to 8/2/1992 AD has looked into the matter and decided: It is obligatory to block this door and prevent it, because it leads to evil and to what is prohibited.” [End of quote]

Allah knows best.
