Question

Asalaam mu akaikum What is the reward for helping people to get married. I do it for reward from Allah swa but people are makeing remarks

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.

In general, helping Muslims in need is among the greatest offerings to Allaah. Abu Hurayrah narrated that the Prophet said: "Whoever brings a believer out of a difficulty of this world, Allaah will save him from one of the difficulties of the Day of Resurrection. And whoever gives respite to a person who has difficulty in repaying his debt, Allaah will facilitate matters for him in this world and in the Hereafter; and whoever covers a Muslim, Allaah will cover his sins in this world and in the Hereafter, and Allaah helps a person as long as he helps his brother." [Muslim]

Marriage is something good, and young Muslims should be helped in it with any kind of lawful assistance.

If you mean that you introduce each party to the other and abide by the Islamic conditions in doing so, like avoiding seclusion or forbidden mixing and other evils, then you are doing well, and if the people criticize you unjustly, then they are wrong. So, you should continue doing what you are doing and you should seek assistance from righteous Muslims, and you should not leave such good works because of the remarks that people make.

Allaah Knows best.
