First: If your mother’s work is permissible in itself, then her earnings from it are permissible. The mere presence of mixing between men and women in the work environment does not necessarily render the salary unlawful.

Second: It is permissible for you to benefit from her wealth and use it for anything that is Islamically lawful, so long as she has not specified that what she gives you is only for your studies. If she has specified that it is for studying, then you may not use it for other purposes except with her permission.

Third: Singing, if it is not accompanied by musical instruments and its lyrics are good—encouraging virtue and goodness, and free from obscenity or calls to immorality—has been permitted by a number of scholars, while others have considered it disliked. The stronger view is that it is permissible. However, one should not frequently engage in it or make it a regular occupation for entertaining gatherings and the like, as this is not the way of people of piety and righteousness.

In any case, we do not advise you to pursue this direction. It is better to direct your efforts toward matters that benefit you and your community.
