Accepted Answer

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.

We have already issued the rulings of the prostration for forgetfulness in Fatwa 85480, so please refer to it.

As regards whoever has forgotten to prostrate for forgetfulness, and did not remember except after a long time, then he is not required to do anything and his prayer is valid. However, if one remembers after a short while, then he should prostrate for forgetfulness.
