Thank you for Islamweb Staff and their attrctive Hajj section this year.
Haj is an occassion for Muslims from all over the world to meet. Muslims speaking different languages and from different countries assemble at Makkah al Mukarramah and Madeena al Munawarah. It is a unique spiritual experience.
In essence it is a world conference of Muslims.
At Mina, Arafa, and Musdalifah they are reminded of the first and last Hajj of the Prophet Mohammed (Peace Be Upon Him)
and his companions.
The throwing of pebbles at the Jamras, the removal/cutting of hair from the head, the sacrifice of animals, the thawaf, the nafil salat behind Maqamu Ibrahim, and the Saay all make remembrance of the sacrifices of Hajara (R.A.), construction of Kabah by Ibrahim and Ismail (Peace Be Upon Them).
Zamzam well and its water is a wonder for the mankind. It is the main source of water for the pilgrims at Makkah al Mukarramah. Lakhs of Hajis use the Zamzam water for drining during their stay at Makkah al Mukarramah and carries
the water home. It has been there since the time of Ibrahim
(PBUH) and the quantity of the water has not decreased
for the last thousands of years. Increase in the number of Hajees every year has not dried or dininished the source of water. It is the only well in the world which has stood
for such a long time. It is also one of the wonderful power of Allah and the Hajj is get opportunity to visit the well (even though emtramce is closed now.
The Hajis get an opportunity to see the Kabah (directly), the first masjid in the world built for prayer and to which direction they have been saying salat.
The Hajees get opportunity to visit the mosque of the Prophet (PBUH) and visit grave of Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) and say Salam at Madeena al Munawarah.
The Hajees get opportunity to visit various mosques and places in Makkah al Mukarramah and Madeena al Munawarah which are historically important.
The Hajees learns about the tremendous services rendered to the Hajees by the Custodian of Haramain and the Government of Saudi Arabia which is a model for all nations.
The change of Kiswa is also a great event every year and
some of the Hajees get opportunity to have a glimps into the inside of the Kaaba.
strive more for the sake of islamic community.
