I have a heart disease which is Mitral Valve prolapsed, and I take Metoprolol (beta-blocker) every 12 hours to regulate the heart beats.. I try my best to wake for Suhoor during Ramadan and take the medicine, but when I sleep until after Fajr, I don't fast that day to take the medicine.. Is what I do right? And should I eat normally all day if I don't fast that day?

All perfect praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allah exalt his mention ) is His Slave and Messenger.

If someone breaks the fast for a valid reason in Ramadan, he does not have to fast the remainder of that day since it was permissible for him to break the fast. So he can eat and drink and have sexual intercourse with his wife if she was not fasting for a valid reason as well.

Allah Knows best.
