Answer

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.

We did not understand what you mean by your question. In any case, we say that, in general, divorce takes effect when uttered by one’s free choice. If the husband, with his own free will, deliberately utters the word of explicit divorce or a metaphor of divorce while intending to initiate divorce, then divorce takes place.

However, if a man is overcome by whispers, then his divorce does not take place even if he says the explicit word of divorce. Therefore, he should not pay any attention to such whispers in this regard. At-Taaj wal-Ikleel reads:

’Eesa heard a man who has whispers saying: ‘I divorced my wife’, or speaks of divorce while he did not intend it, or the devil make him doubt about divorce; so he said: ‘he should ignore that; he should say to the devil: you are truthful, and he is not required to do anything [i.e., this does not lead to anything].’

Ibn Rushd said: this is like what is mentioned in Al-Mudawwanah that the person who suffers from whispers is not bound with divorce, and there is no divorce on him, because his whispers are from the devil, so he should ignore that and not pay any attention to it.” [End of quote]

Allah knows best.
