Question
i heard from a reliable aleem here in our town that there is a hadeeth that the Prophet Muhammad stated a prophecy that Islam will be govern in the world in 3 different stages: 1. prophet hood 2. Kulafi rashidin (4 rightly guided caliph) 3. Bloodline (Omayyad, Abbasid, ottoman) according to him, after this, Islam will fall on the world, and oppression government will soon arise (Western, European) then after 100 years from the fall of Islam to the world, Islam will start to rise again from the East, and it will be like the governance of the Prophet Muhammad.... if we would analyze it, 1924 was the fall of ottoman, so after 100 years, that is 2024, Islam will start to rise? I hope you guys understand how i stated it... for the benefit of the doubt, please confirm if this haddeeth exists... wassalam
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad 
is His slave and Messenger.
Hudhayfah 
narrated that the Prophet said: "Prophethood (meaning himself) will remain among you for as long as Allaah wills it to remain, then Allaah will lift it whenever he wills to lift it. Then there will be a Caliphate that follows the guidance of Prophethood, it will remain among you for as long as Allaah wills it to remain. Then, He will lift it whenever He wills to lift it. Afterwards, there will be an oppressive hereditary rule and it will remain with you for as long as Allaah wills it to remain. Then He will lift it whenever He wills to lift it. Then, there will be a tyrannical rule and it will remain for as long as Allaah wills it to remain. Then, Allaah will lift it whenever He wills to lift it. Then, there will be a Caliphate that follows the guidance of Prophethood." Then, Hudhayfah said, "Then the Prophet kept silent." [Ahmad]
The tyrannical rule is restricted to the Will of Allaah, and there is no evidence that restricts it to 100 years, but the promise of Allaah is the truth and it will absolutely happen. As far as we are concerned, we must return to Allaah and be steadfast on His religion and then His Promise will come.
You should know that the meaning of tyrannical rule is the rule by tyranny and oppression, and it is not possible to authoritatively say that this is related to a particular period of time except with a text from the Quran and the Sunnah. For more benefit, please refer to Fatwa 85916.
