Question
asawawb, my question is: is it haram to call a child ALMONTHIR because one ayah said that iblees is one of almonthireen.
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad 
is His slave and Messenger.
Your question includes two matters:

Being named with the name Munthar (منظر) [reprieved]: this term is derived from the word Munthareen (منظرين) which is mentioned in regard to the devil, and it means being among the reprieved. If this is the case, then in our view you should not name a child with this name, because it may include a prohibition. For example, this term may suggest a wrong meaning, which is that the person who is named with it, is among the people who are reprieved until the Day of Judgment, and it is known that no human being was reprieved until the Day of Judgment; it was only the devil who was reprieved along with a group among the angels whose names were a controversial issue among the scholars
as stated in their interpretation of the verse (which means): {Allaah said: ‘So indeed, you are of those reprieved’.} [Quran 38;80] However, there are many good names that one may be named with; for more benefit, please refer to Fataawa 87262 and 82724. -
Naming a child with the name Munthir (منذر) [warner], is permissible, because all names are permissible in principle. There is no prohibition on being named with a particular name unless there is evidence for such a prohibition. Such a term is mentioned about the Prophet as Allaah Says (what means): {…say, “I am only [one] of the warners.} [Quran 27:92], meaning that he warns people about the Punishment of Allaah, and warning is informing and frightening at the same time.
