A possible case of possession by Jinn

Question

I recited some verses of the Quran as Ruqyah over my sick wife. She started shivering and told me that she felt as if something was moving inside her body. Is she possessed by Jinn?

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and messenger.

What you mentioned may be physical illness, the effect of an evil eye or possession by Jinn. Thus, we recommend that you consult a doctor, along with reciting Ruqyah which is based on the Quran and the Sunnah, on a regular basis.

Advise your wife to observe the Athkaar in the morning and evening, read the Quran intensively and recite chapter Al-Baqarah (chapter 2 of the Quran) frequently at home, because it repels the devil as stated in a Saheeh Hadeeth.

You should also purify your house of things that may cause the devil to remain in it or that prevent angels from entering it, such as pictures of animate objects, statues and musical instruments of recordings.

Indeed, obeying Allaah is a means for receiving His support and protection, whereas disobeying Him is a means for affliction, lack of happiness, and for Satan's domination.

Allaah Knows best.
