Fatwa CenterBurying the shaved pubic hair is not compulsory
Question
after shaving pubic hairs,usally i wrap in a paper and throw in dustbin , is it correct method of waste of hairs if not what is correct method ?will i effect by evil satan?
i don't have place to bury it, what can i do ,and like to remove it kindly help me i am very confused. Jazak Allah Khairun
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His Slave and Messenger.
We have previously explained that it is recommended for the Muslim to bury his hair, nails and the like after removing them in Fatwa 88866, so please refer to it.
We have also explained that, to the best of our knowledge, we know no scholar who said that getting rid of such hair or nails without burying them is disliked.
On the other hand, we do not know what you mean by saying that you have no place to bury it, because there is no certain place for that, and it is permissible to bury them in any place.
Finally, we are not aware of any evidence proving that throwing such things in a dustbin or so may expose one to be harmed by the devil.
