Fatwa CenterA married sister breastfeeding her 6-month-old brother
Question
After child (boy) birth 6 month later her mother was dead. When no one can produce breast milk only can produce milk his elder sister. She is 25-26 years old woman.She is married woman. She has a child 5 years old. She doing start breastfeeding her own only one younger brother. What kind of relationship make between brother and sister ?
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad 
is His slave and Messenger.
This woman will become a suckling mother of this child and she is his real (blood related) sister as well. Her children will become the suckling siblings of this child and he is their maternal blood related uncle as well. The husband of this woman will become a suckling father of this child and his children from another wife will become his [child’s] suckling siblings as well and the sisters of the husband will become his paternal aunts from suckling, so all these females are forbidden to him in marriage.
