Delay in marriage not necessarily caused by magic

Question

Since I was young, I have been suffering from envy and magic because of my beauty, and I do not know how to treat this. What should I do? When there is a delay in marriage, does this indicate that I am under a spell, knowing that whenever someone proposes to me, something goes wrong or we feel a barrier between us that impedes our marriage?

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.

Allaah The Almighty has sent a cure for every disease He has created, regardless of who perceives them and who does not. Magic it is not an incurable disease, praise be to Allaah,

Dear sister, we urge you to adhere firmly to the teachings of Islam. You have to intensify your remembrance of Allaah The Almighty and your praise to Him. You should try to draw closer to Him through obeying His commands and seeking what pleases Him. Also, recite Al-Mu‘awwithataan (Chapters 113 and 114 of the Quran) often and beware of sins because they are the cause for the hardship and suffering a person experiences. The Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, told us that man may be deprived of sustenance because of a sin that he commits. He also said that nothing can ward off Fate except supplication, and that only righteousness prolongs one’s lifespan. [Ahmad and Ibn Maajah]

You must know that delay in marriage and problems that occur in a person’s affairs are not necessarily caused by envy or magic. There may be other reasons for them that are known only to Allaah The Almighty, and may be this delay is better for you for Allaah The Almighty Says (what means): {But perhaps you hate a thing and it is good for you; and perhaps you love a thing and it is bad for you. And Allaah Knows, while you know not.}[Quran 2:216] May Allaah The Almighty grant you and us guidance and success.

Allaah Knows best.
