Playing Carrom in Ramadan

Question

is playing carrom legal in ramdan

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His Slave and Messenger.

What befits a Muslim, in all his time in general and in Ramadan in particular, is to strive in the worship of Allaah The Almighty and to do what benefits him in this World and the Hereafter. It should be known to you, my dear brother, that what is permissible to play at any time other than Ramadan is also permissible to play in Ramadan, but wasting that noble time in playing is inappropriate.

As for this game in particular, it is unlawful in the sight of some scholars and disliked in the sight of others, and the latter is the opinion we adopt here in Islamweb.

Therefore, it is confirmed then to leave it, to avoid the difference of opinion; and if it is confirmed to leave it at any time other than Ramadan, then, it is more confirmed to leave it in Ramadan, because it is a noble season in which one should fill his time with the worship of Allaah The Almighty.

Allaah Knows best.
