Question
What are the best methods for guiding people and leading them back to Islam?
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, the Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and messenger.
One of the best methods of Da‘wah, is practicing what one preaches. That is, the Muslim practises the instructions of Islam and thereby becomes a model for others to follow. Sincerity and adhering to the Sunnah of the Prophet 
are the basis for fruitful Da‘wah efforts. It is only sincerity that helps one's words find their way into people's hearts and minds.
It is a requirement for those who propagate Islam to utilize all necessary means to make their efforts fruitful. What they enjoin or forbid must be in accordance with Islamic Sharee‘ah. They must preach use different means to call people to Islam and attract the audiences' attention by using motivating methods.
Moreover, they may use any permissible method to achieve the sought objective, such as paying visits, offering gifts, and being cheerful.
