Invalidity of a civil arbitrators’ decision

Question

What is the ruling on an arbitrators' decision, which was issued in a civic dispute, when they do not observe religious principles?

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allaah, the Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and messenger.

Any ruling or decision contradicting religious principles or a text from the Quran or the Sunnah is null and void, and is considered a ruling of Taghoot (injustice).

We previously discussed in detail the ruling on judging with other than the Law (Religion) of Allaah in Fatwa 91731, so please refer to it.

Allaah Knows best.
