Some news about the impact of geometrical shapes and their special radiation that can be used in the treatment of some diseases has recently been circulated. My question is: does hanging a geometrical shape or figure contradict the teachings of the Islamic sharia and the Sunnah?
All perfect praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.
There is no problem with someone using these geometrical shapes for treatment if it is proven beneficial through experimentation or medical science. There are two permissible methods of treatment:
Firstly: treatment using the reported ruqyah (healing through the Quran and supplications) and reciting the verses of the Quran for the purpose of seeking treatment.
Secondly: experimentally proven treatment which relies on utilizing material means that are proven beneficial in treating diseases. However, it is impermissible for a Muslim to seek treatment using forbidden substances, means, or instruments, even if physicians or experts claim their benefit.
However, if the use of these geometrical shapes is based on astrology, then that is nothing but an unlawful interpretation of the stars that is practiced by astrologists and sorcerers and it is impermissible to seek treatment through it.
Allah knows best.
