Three questions faced by all in the graves

Question

Will disbelievers face the same questions in the graves as Muslims will face?

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allaah, the Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His Slave and Messenger.

Every dead person will be asked three questions: “Who is your Lord? What is your religion? Who is your prophet?”

Believers will be guided by Allaah to the correct answer, while disbelievers will not know how to answer. This has been proved by a long authentic Hadeeth that was narrated on the authority of Al-Baraa’ ibn ‘Aazib may Allaah be pleased with him. He said that the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, told them that the Muslim will be asked, “Who is your Lord?” and he will reply “My Lord is Allaah.” Then he will be asked, “What is your religion?” He will say “My religion is Islam.” To the last question “Who is your prophet?” He will answer “My prophet is Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam.” At this time he will be told that he will enter Paradise. Conversely, the disbelievers will be asked the same questions but will be unable to answer them. They will then be told that they will enter Hell, and they will be tormented severely in their graves.
