‘Umrah and curing magic

Question

Is it true that the performance of ‘Umrah nullifies the effect of magic? Is it true that ‘Umrah which is performed in Ramadhaan nullifies the effect of magic?

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allaah, the Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His Slave and Messenger.

Please note that the reward for performing ‘Umrah (minor pilgrimage) is great. In an authentic Hadeeth, the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, mentioned that the performance of two ‘Umrahs expiates the sins and misdeeds committed in the interval between them. [Ahmad] The reward is even greater when ‘Umrah is performed in Ramadan, for the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, mentioned that ‘Umrah performed in Ramadan is equal, in its reward, to the performance of Hajj or to the performance of Hajj with the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam. [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]

However, there is nothing in the Sharee‘ah proving that ‘Umrah can nullify the effect of magic.

Allaah Knows best.
