Touching clothes stained with mathy with a wet hand

Question

Given that it is sufficient to sprinkle water onto clothes if madhi (pre-seminal fluid) gets on them, then does a person's hand become impure if he touches the cloth with wet hands?

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

The scholars differed in opinion about the purity of the clothes over which water is sprinkled if they were stained with mathy. Some scholars hold the view that it is enough to sprinkle water on the garment that is stained with mathy because there is a hadeeth in this regard, and this is the view chosen by Shaykh Ibn Taymiyyah may Allaah have mercy upon him.

According to the view that it is enough to sprinkle water on the clothes stained with mathy in order to render them pure, then if you have sprinkled water on them, they become pure, so they do not render the wet or dry things that they come in contact with impure because these things touched something that is ruled to be pure.

Allaah knows best.
