Wetting bathroom floor not excuse that allows Tayammum

Question

Assalaamu alaykum. I work mostly with non-Muslims in an office. During the prayer times, I cannot perform ablution with water in the bathroom as the floor will get wet. I am unable to perform ablution as it is very difficult to find a bathroom where I can perform ablution with water. In the above case, can I perform Tayammum (dry ablution) and perform the prayer? Please give me your guidance. Thank you.

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

What you mentioned in the question is not an excuse that makes Tayammum permissible for you as you may bring a container to perform ablution in it so that you do not wet the bathroom floor if that is what you want. And you may also look for another way to avoid wetting the floor if wetting the floor causes harm.

You have to fear Allah and give His commands precedence over anything else.

Allah knows best.
