Loves a Married Woman and Wishes to Have Her in Paradise

Question

Salam. if a person love someone and wanted to marry but in this world she/he married to other person, what will happen in heaven will that person love and desire to marry same person or his desire and love will be removed.

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

Paradise is the abode of goodness and the dwelling of good people. The people of Paradise have high aspirations and noble desires, so they do not wish evil or long for what is forbidden in this worldly life.

Ibn Al-Qayyim said in his book Zaad Al-Ma'aad in a long statement, which we will summarize in the following:

"Allah has made all goodness in Paradise, and He has made all evil in Hellfire. He has made three dwellings: The first dwelling is one that is pure for the good people and it is forbidden for the bad people. This dwelling gathers all goodness; it is Paradise. The second dwelling is the abode of evil people and evil matters, and only the evil and spiteful people will enter it; it is Hellfire. The third dwelling is a dwelling that is mixed with good and evil, and it is this worldly life…" [End of quote]

It should be noted that a Muslim must busy himself with what will be the reason for him to enter Paradise, such as faith and good deeds. Allah Says (what means): {Indeed, those who have believed and done righteous deeds - they will have the Gardens of Paradise as a lodging.} [Quran 18:107]

It should also be noted that a woman in Paradise will be the wife of the man who was her husband in this worldly life.

If the love of a married woman finds its way to a man’s heart, then he should strive to repel his desires and suppress his own evil self, and should not give in to thinking about her, lest he would commit with her what Allah has forbidden.

He should remind himself that there is no way for him to this woman since she is already married and has a husband, and that she is among the women whom Allah has forbidden us from marrying. Allah Says when mentioning the women whom we are forbidden to marry (what means): {And [also prohibited to you are all] married women.} [Quran 4:24]

You should look for another woman (to marry) as there are many women out there.
