What are the righteous deeds that make one loved by Allah and whereby Allah exalts him to the highest degrees?
All perfect praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.
Your question about the deeds that are most beloved to Allah was answered by the Messenger of Allah, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam. ‘Abdullah ibn Mas‘ood reported:
I asked the Messenger of Allah, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, "Which of the deeds is most beloved to Allah?" The Messenger of Allah, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, said, "Performing the prayer at its prescribed, fixed time." I asked, "What next?" He replied, "Dutifulness to the parents." I asked, "What next?" He replied, "Jihad (striving) in the Cause of Allah." Had I asked him for more, he would have told me. [Al-Bukhari]
‘A’ishah narrated that the Messenger of Allah, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, was asked what the most beloved deed to Allah is and that he replied, "It is that which is done continuously even if it is little." [Muslim]
Ibn ‘Abbas reported that a man asked, "O Messenger of Allah, which of the deeds is most beloved to Allah?'' The Messenger of Allah, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, said, "The one who completes (the recitation of) the Quran from the beginning until its end and then starts again." [At-Tirmithi. He ranked it as inauthentic]
One knows that he is loved by Allah when he is granted success to do righteous deeds and is used for serving people. Other signs include following the methodology of the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, love of the believers, hate of the disbelievers and the disobedient people, as well as other signs mentioned in the Quran and the Sunnah.
Allah knows best.
