Diligence of Ibn Az-Zubayr In Worship

Question

Assalamu alaikkum
Muslim Al-Makkee narrated: “Once I saw Ibn Az-Zubair RA go into Ruku so I read surah al-Baqarah, Aali Imraan, an-Nisaa’ and al-Maa’idah and he did not raise his head!” [Az-Zuhd of Abu Dawud, p. 348]
The above is authentic or notjQuery11100763377694513097_1579586809842
I know that it takes three hours to complete the four long surah’s and i know if we stand in the same position for a while, our body will ache
My doubt is how can a person stay in a rukuh for three hours??

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

This report was cited by Abu Daawood may Allaah have mercy upon him in Az-Zuhd on the authority of ‘Abdullah ibn Sa‘eed from Muslim ibn Yannaaq Al-Makki. The authenticator of Az-Zuhd stated that the narrators of this report were trustworthy, except for ‘Abdullaah ibn Sa‘eed. He could not identify who he was, and there were a number of narrators with the same name in this tier of narrators. Anyway, the report indicates the diligence of Ibn Az-Zubayr may Allaah be pleased with him in worship as well as his keenness in performing acts of worship and enduring great hardship in the process. May Allah, The Exalted, be pleased with him and all the Companions of the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam.

Allah Knows best.
