Question
Assalamu alaikum
Is it allowed for women to use natural ingredients for beautification purposes like using turmeric to increase fairness of skin sometimes permanently?
What is the Islamic ruling on this?
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad 
is His slave and Messenger.
There is nothing wrong with using natural substances such as foods or the like for skin care, so the basic principle with regard to such things is permissibility. This is not regarded as abusing the food, which is something forbidden to do; rather, it is using it in what is permissible.
