The Udh-hiyah of a married person living with his wife at his father's house

Question

I am a married young man. I work and get a good wage. I live with my parents in their home. Should I offer an Udh-hiyah (sacrificial animal for the 'Eed) for myself and my wife? Is my father's Udh-hiyah enough for all of us, and could I thus give the price of mine in charity without slaughtering?

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allaah, the Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.

If your father is responsible for providing for the household members, then his Udh-hiyah is enough for you and all his family members living with him as well.

Allaah Knows best.
