Answer

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

There is no harm on you in studying those stories, literature, and poems with the aforementioned purpose, which is to learn the language.

The scholars have been narrating in the past and present time the poetry of Imru’ al-Qays and other pre-Islamic poetry that includes the description of wine and so on, with the aim of learning the grammar of the language.

As long as you are aware of the falsehood of this content and you will study it for the aforementioned purpose, then there is no harm on you, Allah willing.

Allah knows best.
