Question
Assalamu alaykum wa rahmatullah,I’m a Muslim woman starting a business creating digital products (like courses and videos). For modesty, I prefer not to use my real voice, so I intend to use a female AI-generated voice for narration.The voice won’t imitate anyone specific and will be used only for educational and professional content, with nothing haram or deceptive.Is it permissible to use AI voice in this way?Jazakum Allahu khayran.
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad 
is His slave and Messenger.
There is nothing wrong with generating sound using artificial intelligence and using it in permissible videos. This aligns with the principle that matters are permissible by default (unless explicitly proven to be forbidden by Shariah), as the principle regarding people’s transactions and contracts is that they are permissible and valid, so nothing is forbidden or invalidated except what the legal evidence indicates that it is forbidden or invalid.
Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah 
said in his book ‘Iqtidaa As-Sirat Al-Mustaqim’:
“The principle upon which Imam Ahmad and other Imams based their schools of thought is that people’s actions are divided into two categories: acts of worship, and customary practices from which they benefit in their daily lives. The rule regarding acts of worship is that nothing is prescribed except what Allah the Almighty has legislated, and the rule regarding customary practices is that nothing is forbidden except what Allah has prohibited.” [End of quote].
Lastly, our advice to you is to make the voice produced by the artificial intelligence a male voice, as it is safer. However, if you choose for it to be a female voice, ensure that its tone is serious and not submissive or affectionate.
