Assalamualaikum, I was advised by someone that if we sacrifice a goat then Allah will provide us relief from suffering and I will get marriage proposals. That someone also advised me that I should recite Surah Taha and Surah Maryam for marriage proposals. What's the verdict on these two acts for getting marriage proposals?
All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad
is His slave and Messenger.
Sacrificing a goat or other permissible animals has no special effect for getting marriage proposals.
Likewise, it is not valid to link getting marriage proposals to reading specific Surahs of the Quran except with Islamic legal evidence, otherwise this would constitute innovation in religion and saying things about Allah without knowledge. We do not know of any evidence that any of the Surahs of the Quran have been designated to lead to marriage.
Moreover, it should be emphasised that the objective behind the revelation of the Quran is far greater and more exalted than this, as it was revealed as an admonition, a guidance, a mercy, a light for the people, and a healing for what is in the hearts, as Allah the Almighty says (what means): {O mankind! Indeed, there has come to you a warning from your Lord, a cure for what is in the hearts, a guide, and a mercy for the believers.} [Quran 10:57]
Similarly, Allah the Almighty says: {O People of the Book! Now Our Messenger has come to you, revealing much of what you have hidden of the Scriptures and disregarding much. There certainly has come to you from Allah a light and a clear Book, through which Allah guides those who seek His pleasure to the ways of peace, brings them out of darkness and into light by His Will, and guides them to the Straight Path.} [Quran 5:15-16]
Finally, you must have fear of Allah, the Most High, for through this He will make a way for you to get out from difficulty and facilitate your affairs. In addition, make abundant supplications from the Quran and Sunnah that combine the good of this world and the Hereafter. Persist in calling upon Allah with determination, especially during times when supplications are more likely to be accepted -such as the last part of the night, between the Adhan and Iqamah, after the ‘Asr prayer on Friday, and other similar occasions.
Allah knows best.
