Question
If a person on personal pages. Post the Holy Quran or religious issues. Can I download or copy it. And I post it on my virtual page. Is there شر?عه problem?
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad (sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) is His slave and Messenger.
There is no harm in sharing Qur’anic verses and religious content on your page. Thus, you can share content such as Prophetic narrations, sayings of the Companions (
) or the statements of scholars, by copying them from others’ pages, as these are not owned by anyone.
As for what is prohibited from copying and sharing; it includes works that are customarily known to be protected by copyright and whose owners do not permit their distribution, such as books, videos, and similar materials. This is because copyright belongs to their owners and cannot be violated, as affirmed by the scholarly councils.
