Good works of non-Muslims in Hereafter

Question

If a non-Muslim does a good work will Allah give him the reward in Hereafter?

Answer

Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the World; and may His blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions.

The Kafirs (non-believers) who perform good deeds and donate for charity to construct hospitals, health care, Centres… etc. get no reward from Allah for such deeds because it is not intended to be for the sake of Allah. Furthermore, the faith or belief in Allah is the basic principle for accepting the good deeds by Allah and the Kafirs or non-believers lack this important element. Allah Says (interpretation of meaning): {And We shall turn to whatever deeds they (disbelievers, polytheists, sinners, etc.) did, and We shall make such deeds as scattered floating particles of dust.} [25:23]. He also Says: {Whosoever desires the life of the world and its glitter; to them We shall pay in full (the wages of) their deeds therein, and they will have no diminution therein. They are those for whom there is nothing in the Hereafter but Fire; and vain are the deeds they did therein. And of no effect is that which they used to do.} [11:15-16].
The Kafirs (non-believers) by doing charity not for the sake of Allah, get only the gratitude and commendation from the human beings in this world and get nothing in the Hereafter. Allah Says (interpretation of meaning): {Whosoever desires (with his deeds) the reward of the Hereafter, We give him increase in his reward, and whosoever desires the reward of this world (with his deeds), We give him thereof (what is written for him), and he has no portion in the Hereafter.} [42:20].
Allah knows best.
