Question
Is the man allowed to wear a watch mixed with a little gold (the frame of the watch is gold)?
Answer
Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds; and may His blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions. If the gold that is in the watch is insignificant to the extent that when this watch is exposed to fire, nothing that can be regarded as wealth could be extracted out of it, then it is lawful to wear such watch. This is the opinion of the majority of scholars and their evidence for this is that anything that can not be isolated and put aside independently takes the rule of the non-existent, hence no Shariah rules forbidding gold use for men are derived from it. Allah knows best.
