Can we wear coloured contact lenses if we don't need to wear them for our eyesight?

Accepted Answer

Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds; and may His blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions. Initially wearing contact lenses for Zeenah (adornment) is lawful unless they have any bad side effects on the eyes. So, if the contact lenses can cause any harm to the eyes, they should not be worn. The evidence is that in Shariah warding evil or harm is given priority over getting benefit. Allah knows best.
