Question
Is it Islamic to restrict a male Muslim to marry once i.e. banning more than one wife? Can it be done under any circumstances?
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad 
is His slave and Messenger.
Islam permitted a man to marry up to four wives and it is not permissible to prevent him from doing so except if there is a considerable Islamic benefit.
