What was the actual shape and size of the beard of our Holy Prophet?
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds.  I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.
Imaam Muslim  reported in his Saheeh that Jaabir
  reported in his Saheeh that Jaabir  said that the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, used to have a thick beard. In the narration of Imaam Ahmad and An-Nasaa’i
  said that the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, used to have a thick beard. In the narration of Imaam Ahmad and An-Nasaa’i  both, “He had a thick beard”. Shaykh Al-Albaani
 both, “He had a thick beard”. Shaykh Al-Albaani  graded it as Saheeh (authentic).

Al-Haythami  explained the expression ‘thick beard’ in Al-Mujamma’a, saying, “It means that the beard is not thin or long but it is thick without being too dense or long.”

Al-Munawi  said in Faydh Al-Qadeer, in the interpretation of ‘he used to have a thick beard’ that it is to say ‘dense and round, covering all what is between his shoulders.’

Al-Qurtubi  said, “When they gave the evidence that the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, had a thick beard, this does not mean that he had a long beard; it meant that it was thick but not long.”
