Question
Is Jesus Christ coming soon?
Answer
Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds; and may His blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions.
Regarding the descent of Issa (Jesus) (Alaihi al-Salaam) please refer to Fatwa: 82052.
The descent of Issa is near, because everything that is coming is nigh. The Hour is near as Allah Says (interpretation of meaning): {The Hour has drawn near,….}[54:1], therefore, the coming of Issa is nearer and sooner as it will happen before The Hour. Nobody knows the time of his descent but Allah.
Most of the minor signs of the Day of Judgment have already occurred. This means that the major signs are near, and amongst these signs is the descent of Issa (Alaihi al-Salaam).
