How to make one's business prosper

Question

I hope that you and your team are doing fine in dispensing your duties with the Grace of ALLAH.I am again bothering you for some inquiry, hope you wont mind it.
QUESTION.
I have a modest business and I want it to grow legally and in compliance with Shariah, so apart from working hard and good planning and management, what can I do, I mean if there is any Dua or Dhikr that I can recite.

Answer

Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds; and may His blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions.

We do not know any specific Dua that is said for the prosperity in the business. But generally the following acts are useful to achieve the purpose:

· Making as much Istighfar as possible, Allah says in this concern:" I said (to them): 'Ask forgiveness from your Lord; Verily, He is Oft-Forgiving; 'He will send rain to you in abundance; 'And give you increase in wealth and children, and bestow on you gardens and bestow on you rivers.' "(Nuh 71: 10-12)

· Observing Taqwa and piety. Allah says: "And whosoever fears Allah and keeps his duty to Him, He will make a way for him to get out (from every difficulty). And He will provide him from (sources) he never could imagine. And whosoever puts his trust in Allah, then He will suffice him. Verily, Allah will accomplish his purpose. Indeed Allah has set a measure for all things. (At-Talaq 65:3-5)

· Being Truthful in all dealings. The Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam)said: "Both the buyer and the seller have the option of canceling or confirming the bargain unless they separate, and if they speak the truth and mention the defects, then their bargain will be blessed, and if they tell lies and conceal the defects, they might gain some financial gains but they will deprive their sale of (Allah's) blessings."

· Making Dua to protect the wealth and to make it blessed.

· Starting the business from early morning as Sakhar reported from the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) who said: "O, Allah! Bless my nation in their early mornings." Thus, the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) when sending out a detachment, or an army, he sent them at the beginning of the day.

Sakhar was a business man and he used to send out his merchandize early morning and he became rich and very wealthy. (Abu Dawud and Al Thirmidhi)

· Paying the Zakah and paying the obligatory rights of the people.

Allah knows best.
