Wants cure for drug addiction

Question

In the name of Allaah, The Most-Gracious, The Most-Merciful. I Muhammad have been a Muslim for over 10 years and have really gained some knowledge over the past 6 years. However I have been plagued with a disease that has stolen my Islam away from me and that is cocaine use. I really need help, advice, and the guidance of Allaah and His Messenger Muhammad, sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam, Insha Allaah. Please brother, Abdul Halim Lee assist me in my Ibada, tawhid, and Eemaan by shedding some light from the words of Allaah and His Messenger. What chapters should I read and Hadeeth. Also being that the location I am in I find that there probably only six Muslims other than myself in this small town, what shall I do in being able to converse with someone that shares the same denomination as myself. It has been over a week and half since my last use and I have been making some of my Salat. I know that is what has been giving me the strength to do better in itself because without holding onto the rope I shall remain in the dark.

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.

We ask Allaah to facilitate your affairs, to guide your heart, to accept your repentance and to make you firm on the truth.

You have to know that your matter is easy, Insha Allaah. So we guide you to the following:

1) Leave this disobedience seeking the pleasure of Allaah and be sincere to Him. If this is your aim, your matter will be made easy.

2) Remember that Allaah is The One Who forbade these drugs. So you have to leave them as an act of obedience to His Order.

3) Remember that their consequences are very serious on you, with regard to your religion, as Allaah is angry with you, and to your worldly life. How could you be pleased with the fact that you are deprived of the ability to ponder and think at any given time?

Being addicted to drugs could lead you to commit other sins, like adultery or fornication, killing or stealing.

4) Remember death and remember that you will stand before Allaah to be accountable for your deeds on a day that no wealth or children will benefit you. You could die and meet Allaah while intoxicated, and thus Allaah will punish you by making you drink from the pus of Hell-fire's denizens, as the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) informed us about.

5) Perform obligatory acts of worship continuously and perform supererogatory acts as much as possible, like the remembrance of Allaah reading the Qur'aan, and utilizing your free time with what will benefit you.

6) Stay in communication with righteous people in your country and other countries, especially with the existence of means of communications like the internet and so on. And it is more appropriate to leave this corrupt environment in order to protect your religion and to please your Lord.

7) One of the strongest weapons in achieving what is required is to supplicate to Allaah to make you firm and enable you to do whatever He likes and He is pleased with.

We finally advise you to be keen on seeking beneficial knowledge and take advantage of Islaamic websites, like this blessed website, Insha Allaah, Islaamweb and others.

Allaah knows best.
